Female DC Barrel Jack Adaptor 2.1mm Connector
This 2.1mm female DC barrel jack is a standard PCB mount power connector designed for use with common 2.1mm DC power adapters. It is ideal for DIY electronics, embedded systems, Arduino compatible projects, battery powered devices and custom power distribution boards.

The connector features a 2.1mm center hole and a three pin switched design, allowing automatic power source selection between a wall adapter and a battery supply.
How the Switched Pins Work
This jack includes three terminals:
- Pin 1 exits from the rear of the jack and connects to the centre pin
- Pin 2 exits from the bottom and connects to the outer sleeve
- Pin 3 exits from the side and is internally switched
When no plug is inserted, pins 2 and 3 are internally connected. When a DC plug is inserted, pin 3 is automatically disconnected.
This makes it easy to design circuits that run from a battery by default and automatically switch to a wall adapter when connected.
