12V / 24V PIR Motion Sensor Switch for LED Strips - 6A
12V / 24V PIR Motion Sensor Switch for LED Strips - 6A has a 5-10 day lead time before dispatch. Order will only be sent once all items are available for delivery.
This 12V / 24V PIR motion sensor switch turns any single colour LED strip into motion-activated lighting. Wired inline between your DC power supply and the strip, it detects movement up to 8 m away, switches the lights on, then turns them off again after an adjustable 1 to 10 minute delay. A simple 12V motion detector for wardrobes, pantries, stairways, hallways, garages, caravans and under-cabinet lighting.
Features
- Works with 12V and 24V DC LED strips and lights
- Switches loads up to 6A
- PIR movement sensor with 5 to 8 m detection range and 120° angle
- Adjustable off delay from 1 to 10 minutes
- Works day and night (no light sensor, so it triggers in any lighting)
- Clean on/off switching with no flicker
- Very low standby draw (under 1W)
- Screw mount with 2 fixing holes
Wiring
The sensor has 4 screw terminals:
- INPUT + / -: connect to your 12-24V DC power supply
- OUTPUT + / -: connect to your LED strip
The output voltage matches the input, so use a 12V supply for 12V strips and a 24V supply for 24V strips. This sensor is designed for two-wire single colour LED strips.
Installation Tips
- Mount at a height of 2 to 3.5 m for best coverage
- Point the lens towards where people will walk, with a clear line of sight
- Avoid aiming at heaters, air vents or direct sunlight, which can cause false triggers
