The TB6600 is a two-phase stepper motor driver for CNC routers, engravers, laser machines, plotters and other automation projects. Set the microstepping and output current with the on-board DIP switches, then drive it with a simple pulse and direction signal from an Arduino, ESP32, GRBL board or any CNC controller.

Key Features

  • Output current: 8 selectable levels from 0.5A to 3.5A (4.0A peak)
  • Supply voltage: 9-40V DC
  • Microstepping: 1, 2/A, 2/B, 4, 8, 16 and 32, up to 6400 pulses per revolution on a 1.8° motor
  • Optocoupler isolated inputs: PUL, DIR and EN signals are isolated for better noise immunity
  • Common-anode or common-cathode wiring: works with 5V logic directly
  • Protection: overheat, over-current and short circuit
  • Automatic idle current reduction to cut heat when the motor is stationary
  • Large aluminium heat sink and screw terminal connections, no soldering needed

Compatible Motors

Two-phase (bipolar) stepper motors with 4, 6 or 8 leads, including NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 motors rated up to 3.5A per phase. Check your motor's rated current and set the DIP switches at or below it.

Wiring Notes

  • Signals: PUL+/PUL-, DIR+/DIR-, EN+/EN-
  • Motor: A+, A-, B+, B-
  • Power: VCC and GND (9-40V DC)
  • With a 5V controller, connect directly. At 12V use a 1kΩ series resistor on each signal line, and at 24V use 2kΩ.
  • The EN (enable) terminal is normally left unconnected. When active, it releases the motor so the shaft turns freely and pulses are ignored.
  • Always remove power before making or changing connections, and check supply polarity before switching on.

Specifications

  • Supply voltage: 9-40V DC
  • Output current: 0.5-3.5A (4.0A peak)
  • Max power: 160W
  • Operating temperature: -10 to 45°C, non-condensing
  • Dimensions: 96 x 56 x 33mm
  • Weight: 0.2kg

Note: This listing is for the driver only. A stepper motor and a suitable DC power supply are required and sold separately.
