Delivery Options

We offer several delivery choices to fit your needs:

  • AusPost Untracked Letter: $3. Delivery in 3-8 business days (untracked). No refunds or replacements without proof of receiving the order.
  • Free Delivery: Orders over $50 qualify for free tracked delivery via AusPost Parcel Standard (3-6 business days). Note: Raspberry Pi Model B boards are not eligible for free delivery.
  • AusPost Parcel Standard: $8. Tracked delivery in 3-6 business days.
  • AusPost Parcel Express: $13. Express tracked delivery in 1-3 business days.

Additional Information

  • Non-metro addresses in WA, NT, SA & TAS may require extra time.
  • Certain batteries (like LiPo) cannot be shipped by air, affecting Express Post availability.
  • We recommend selecting tracked options for valuable items. Untracked orders will not receive tracking numbers or refunds without proof of delivery.

  • Standard Warranty: 12 months for all products. Low-cost hobby parts have a 90-day warranty unless safe handling is shown.
  • Exceptions: Kits and interfaceable electronics may not be covered if damaged due to misuse.
  • Returns: Contact support via your order confirmation email within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unopened and in original packaging. Proof of purchase is required.
  • Defective/Damaged Items: Notify us within 14 days for a free refund or replacement.
  • Return Shipping Costs: Paid by the customer unless the item is defective. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

The MAX7219 simplifies driving LED displays, making it ideal for applications such as scoreboards, clocks, and scrolling text displays. Its compact design and ease of use make it a favourite among hobbyists and electronics enthusiasts.

 

Features:

  1. Integrated Serial Input/Output Common-Cathode Display Driver:
    • The MAX7219 is designed to interface microprocessors (μPs) with 7-segment numeric LED displays, bar-graph displays, or individual LEDs.
  2. BCD Code-B Decoder:
    • On-chip BCD code-B decoder for efficient data handling.
  3. Multiplex Scan Circuitry:
    • Enables multi-channel scanning and word drive.
  4. 8x8 Static RAM:
    • Stores data for each digit.
  5. Segment Current Control:
    • Only one external register needed to set the segment current for all LEDs.
  6. Serial Interface:

Module Parameters:

  1. Common Cathode Lattice:
    • A single module can drive an 8x8 common cathode lattice.
  2. Operating Voltage:
    • Module operates at 5V.
  3. Module Size:
    • Dimensions: 5cm (length) x 3.2cm (width) x 1.5cm (height).
  4. Mounting Holes:
    • Four screw holes with a 3mm aperture for secure installation.
  5. Cascading Support:
    • Input and output interfaces allow multiple modules to be cascaded.

 

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Connect the module’s input port (left side) and output port (right side).
  2. For controlling a single module:
    • Connect the input port directly to the CPU.
  3. For cascading multiple modules:
    • Input termination module connects to the CPU.
    • Output termination module connects to the input of the next module.
    • Repeat this pattern for additional modules.

 

Example for an MCU (e.g., Arduino UNO):

  • VCC: Connect to 5V
  • GND: Connect to GND
  • DIN: Connect to P22
  • CS: Connect to P21
  • CLK: Connect to P20
